Microsoft 365 Dynamics
Tenant hardening, Intune, Defender, and Dynamics 365 Business Central
Two product families, one tenant, and one shared set of mistakes. Microsoft 365 ships permissive by design so that it works on day one — legacy authentication enabled, sharing unrestricted, audit logging on the shortest retention available. Dynamics 365 ships generic by design, and its expensive errors happen before anyone logs in, in module selection and licensing. We handle both sides together because they sit on the same identity plane and inside the same security boundary, and splitting them across two suppliers is how the gap between them stops being anybody's job.
What is included.
For Microsoft-centric organizations: any business running email and files in Microsoft 365 whose tenant has never been reviewed against a security baseline, and any team implementing, extending or rescuing Dynamics 365.
Microsoft 365 — security and management
- Tenant security baselineLegacy authentication blocked, multi-factor enforced, conditional access by risk and location, and administrative roles separated and time-bound rather than permanently assigned.
- Exchange OnlineMail flow rules, anti-phishing and impersonation protection, external sender warnings, and SPF, DKIM and DMARC published correctly so your mail is trusted and your domain cannot be spoofed.
- Teams and SharePoint governanceSharing controls, guest access with an expiry lifecycle, site provisioning standards, sensitivity labels and retention policies so files stop sprawling indefinitely.
- Device management with IntuneEnrollment, compliance policies, disk encryption, app protection for personal phones, and a remote wipe that has been tested rather than assumed.
- Defender and data protectionDefender for Office 365 and Endpoint tuning, data loss prevention rules for the data you actually hold, and audit log retention extended past the default.
- Tenant migration and consolidationMoves from on-premises Exchange, Google Workspace or another tenant, including the tenant-to-tenant consolidation that follows an acquisition.
Dynamics 365 — business applications
- Module selection and licensingBusiness Central, Sales, Customer Service, Field Service and Project Operations assessed against your requirements, with per-app versus full-user licensing modeled before you sign anything.
- Business Central implementationChart of accounts, dimensions, inventory and warehouse setup, approval workflows and financial reporting configured against documented process rather than assumption.
- Sales and Customer ServicePipeline stages, lead and opportunity routing, case management, SLA policies and queue design matched to how your team actually sells and supports.
- Data migrationExtraction, cleansing, deduplication and validated import of masters and opening balances, reconciled against your existing books before go-live rather than after.
- Integration and extensionPower Automate flows, Dataverse design, custom AL extensions for Business Central, Power BI reporting, and connections to banking, e-commerce, courier and FBR digital invoicing.
- Security model and environmentsRole-based security, field-level restrictions, a sane environment strategy for development and testing, and audit logging that satisfies your compliance obligations.
Four phases, in this order.
The order matters more than the speed. Every phase has an exit condition you sign off before the next one starts.
Assess both sides
The tenant scored against the Microsoft security baseline and the CIS benchmark, and — where Dynamics is in scope — department workshops documenting how work actually flows today, workarounds included.
Harden and configure
Security changes grouped and staged so nothing surprises users, with high-impact items like blocking legacy authentication given a communications plan and a pilot group. Dynamics is configured in a sandbox loaded with your real data.
Roll out and migrate
Intune enrollment and Defender policies proven on a pilot before the wider estate. Dynamics runs in parallel through one full cycle, with reports reconciled against the old system before anything is switched off.
Operate and review
Monthly secure score reporting, quarterly policy review, license optimization so you stop paying for unused tiers, and a prioritized backlog for what surfaced at first month-end.
What you receive.
- Tenant security assessment with prioritized findings
- Conditional access and device compliance policy set, documented
- SPF, DKIM and DMARC records published and validated
- Dynamics requirement matrix with module and licensing recommendation
- Validated data migration and reconciliation report
- Integration documentation and Power Platform solution files
- Monthly secure score and license utilization report

Microsoft 365 Dynamics, specifically.
What does this service actually cover?
Both halves of your Microsoft estate. The first is the Microsoft 365 tenant — email, files, collaboration, identity, devices and the security configuration around them. The second is Dynamics 365 — the business applications for finance, sales and service. We deliver them together because they sit on one identity plane, inside one security boundary, under one licensing agreement, so a decision on either side constrains the other. You can scope just one half if that is all you need.
We already have Microsoft 365. Is it not secure by default?
No, and that is deliberate — Microsoft ships permissive defaults so nothing breaks at go-live and the tenant is yours to tighten. Legacy authentication, unrestricted external sharing and 90-day audit retention are all common on tenants several years old. A baseline assessment typically finds a dozen items you can close inside a week at no additional license cost.
Do we need E5 licenses?
Frequently not. A large share of what matters — conditional access, multi-factor, device compliance, basic data loss prevention — sits in Business Premium or E3 with Entra ID P1. We tell you what your current licenses already entitle you to before recommending an upgrade, because most tenants we review are underusing what they already pay for.
How does Dynamics 365 licensing actually work?
It catches almost everyone out. Licenses are sold per-app or per-user, and a person needing two apps is often cheaper on one full-user license than two app licenses. Team Member licenses cost far less but are largely read-only — fine for approvers, useless for operators. We model your real user mix before purchase, because unwinding it later means renegotiating a contract term.
Can you fix our email landing in spam?
Usually, and it is normally authentication rather than content. Missing or misconfigured SPF, DKIM and DMARC records are by far the most common cause. That is typically a same-week fix with measurable improvement, and we monitor DMARC reports afterwards to confirm it held.
Can you take over a stalled Dynamics implementation?
Frequently, and it is some of the most useful work we do. We begin with an audit of the configuration and data state so you know exactly what can be salvaged and what needs rebuilding, with a costed plan, before committing to either.
Often scoped alongside this.
